From the fruit garden of pakistan to the city of lights, Feroza Gulzar seems to be on a lifelong journey of discovery and exploration so naturally her work revolves around capturing the fleeting moments and the constant changes. Born and brought up in quetta, feroza found her true calling a few years ago after she came to karachi. Even Though a camera was never too far away, her brother is an avid traveller and a photographer, she started taking photography seriously after she started studying BFA and realized that she can use the camera to tell stories that words would fail at.
From landscapes to macros her artwork is not limited to just one form of storytelling, her work seems to evolve with her subjects, from deary landscapes that have a rustic feel to them to brightly lit portraits that speak of life and represent the colors of life. While the photographer in her is always busy capturing, she is more of a storyteller. Someone who is always hunting for interesting ways to tell tales that life might have overlooked or would be uninspiring to the audience without the right visuals. From mirrors to digital editing she uses everything as a tool to not just bring a story to her audience but to make it unique enough to be shared and discussed and then she leaves it up to the viewer to decide what her artwork really says.
In today’s connected world it's really hard to be a beginner which is why her advice to everyone who is just starting their journey is to remember to stay focused. “The world is full of people, who will let you down and those who will pull you down. The only way you can find a footing is if you ignore them, so stay focused.” Your hard work and dedication is what will get help you standout from the crowd so no matter who you are up against always try to be better and never give up.
