Photographers Pakistan: Waleed Alam Photography

Everyone has dreams and only a few get the chance to see them turn into reality but Waleed Alam is one of the luckiest ones who have not seen them come to reality instead he is paid to live his dream. Telling tales with colors have always been easy for him and he started his career as a graphic designer but soon he realised that those dots were not enough so he picked up a camera and started hunting with it.

One of the many proud Pakistani's, Waleed takes pride in saying that he was born on 6th september a day Pakistani's remember as the day they not only resisted an enemy occupation but showed the world that this nation will never go down without a fight. In 2007 he started playing with graphics and soon realised that the pixels were not enough to satisfy his hunger for creativity so he picked up a digital camera and started shooting, after finishing the photo session he sat down and worked with the images to create a story with photoshop and other tools.

He upgraded to a dslr soon after because he wanted to have better results and continued his work, it was 2011 that proved to be a fruitful year for him, people got a hang of his work and that resulted in a tide of followers, he soon started getting projects which he gladly accepted and completed while being paid for something he is so passionate about. To further excel in his field he choose to pursue media science studies and is currently enrolled in Riphah International University, Islamabad. In his opinion an art is something that is within a person, it cannot be taught or learned. He has had a lot of teachers and he is always greatful to them for teaching him to operate his equipments but his work is something that he himself felt and expressed and thus its an art.

His advice to the fresh lot who are just starting is to first look for the desire to do this work in themselves first and if they find it then decide what they want their work to reflect, throwing in every type of picture cannot get someone to a professional level but its the choices between what shots are supposed to be setup in what settings that matter
