Studio J

Omer Khan the behind Studio J is originally from Azad Kashmir but he operates from Islamabad now. Considering his origins its not hard for one to imagine why he is drawn to this form of art, Kashmir is known for its natural beauty and the colors of its habitats. Drawn to photography from an early age, Omer had humble beginnings with basic camera's and random shots of nature posing for him but his attention turned too professional work in 2014 and since then he has been working real hard to prove himself.

Not long ago, Omer would have classified himself as a hobbyist but today he is a true professional who takes keen interest in his work and is always busy finding ways to improve himself. One can say that the architect of his transition from hobbyist to a pro is his brother as he was the one who gifted him the DSLR but its truly his will to succeed that got him where he is today. His passion for photography has been always what drove him and this is why only one seminar is all he took, the rest comes from his own practice and trails. The idea of capturing nature was what started him and even today it is what keeps him going, the only difference between then and now is that he used to chase sunsets and clouds but now its the people and there fleeing emotions.
Photographers in this part of the world are drawn to weddings not just because its a booming industry but due to the fact that weddings in the subcontinent are a beautiful display of culture and heritage. A blend of lush colors, an air of joy and then an aroma of hospitality is what makes desi weddings unique and thus a photographers heaven. Life has had its ups and downs but Omer is an optimistic person and fails to see the negatives in it but he does finds it odd at how so many people these days have started focusing on the material aspects of life. As his fellow photographers try to capture what they find attractive he feels his talent lie in capturing others, to him its the photographer who makes something attractive. So he always voices his concern when he sees a photographer who is trying to find an attractive target and tries to argue with them that it is them who are in control and if they wanted even the most repulsive can be presented in a manner that it would be embraced by the audience.
With technology and social media, photography is now at the heart of it all, with smartphones getting cameras that rival the professional ones it is only a matter of time that the field of photography will evolve. This evolution would lead to newer fields in this art form and new opportunities will be created for those who are willing to experiment. So to him the future seems appealing, it would be full of new and interesting ideas coming together to form a picture that is nothing short of amazing.
