Black Ink Studio

Earning the nickname 'The Bazooka Wala', he started his journey as a photographer when he was just a kid, using digital cameras to satisfy his hunger for capturing moments, he soon found himself a little short handed. The limited amount of functionality that the digital camera offered was not ample enough for him to express himself or his work so he finally made the decision of investing in a dslr and finally in mid of 2012 he got himself one, since then he has had the chance of covering some of the best events in karachi & working as wedding photographer.

Muhamad Rayan holds the lens for Black Ink Studio, he is young but his work clearly states otherwise. With his macros he has proven that anything can be shot up close and it will look perfect while his portrait shoots bring to life an energy that aspires everyone to enjoy life and his wedding shoots are not just creative but the joy in the atmosphere can be felt thru the screen. Raised in Karachi, Rayan grew fond of the colors that this city has to offer the cultural diversity around him allowed him to explore the lighter sides of life and his experiences with the people taught him how to present life on a canvas.
After buying his dslr he spent 4 months alone with it, learning about it and understanding it. To him it wasnt just about clicking but it was more than that he wanted every shot to reflect life itself, so he made the camera a part of him. He always ran after perfection so whenever he sees someone who is more experienced them him he grabs the first opportunity that comes by to learn from them. After several months of practice and experiment his first break came when he was invited to MUNIK V where he not only earned the nick name but gained a new audience who since then have fallen in love with his work.
In his opinion you can never be the best, there will always come a time when someone will prove themselves better and so he believes in constant learning to him photography is an art where experience and equipment only play a minor role, its the creativity and the ingenuity of the artist that brings a picture to life. His favorite shoot to date is a wedding he covered, the beautiful couple Sumair and Khizra really made him feel a part of the family. What irks him off is the fact that a lot of people have jumped into this field, though they pose him no threat professionally but on a personal level he feels its an insult to this scared art, he finds himself furious when he sees an amatuer photographer with a powerful camera taking pictures but failing appreciate the raw power in their hands. His advice to the emerging talent is to focus on creativity rather then higher pixels, its never about how big the picture is its always about how good the subject is and it is very important to understand the equipment at your disposal.
